Positive Feedback: What “Run-Away AI” Might Really Mean

In our last module we merely play with some ideas. We take a look back to some ideas that shaped the trajectory of AI to begin with and let that lead us on some thought experiments. Positive Feedback is introduced alongside Bias to form what can be referred to as unethical AI. We attempt to further dissolve popular misconceptions of AI and develop a clearer picture of the effects of automation on our world systems. At the end of this module you should be able to:

• Evaluate discourse in the field of AI

• Define positive feedback in regards to human systems

• Problematize narrowly defining people and behavior with data
